Boiling Water Tap with Filtration
Qettle Original Boiling Water Tap
A genuine 100°C boiling water tap with a 4 litre insulated tank and a filter system included as standard. Eight cups of boiling water on demand, filtered cold water on the same tap, and no kettle taking up your worktop.
Key features
- Water at a true 100°C. Many boiling taps top out around 98°C, which is close but not the same thing when you're brewing tea or blanching vegetables. The Qettle delivers water at a genuine boil.
- 4 litre insulated tank. Roughly eight cups in one go, enough for a household of around five. Drain it completely and it refills in about 10 minutes.
- Two-stage child safety. A removable safety clip blocks the boiling function entirely. With the clip off, you still have to press the handle button and turn clockwise at the same time before any boiling water is dispensed.
- Filter system included. Not an optional extra. It gives you unlimited filtered cold water and reduces limescale, which is what protects the boiler tank over the long run.
- LED filter reminder. The unit tells you when the cartridge is due rather than leaving you to guess.
- Lower running cost than a kettle. You draw only the water you actually need instead of boiling a full kettle for one cup, and the insulated tank keeps standby consumption low.

Before you order, check these
- Your water pressure must be at least 1.5 bar on both the hot and cold mains sides. This is the single most common reason a boiling tap disappoints, so check it first
- If pressure exceeds 5 bar, a pressure reducing valve is required. We can supply and fit one
- A 13 amp socket is needed under the sink for the boiler
- The tank needs 80 mm of clearance above it for the hose connections, on top of its 230 mm height
- Granite, quartz or composite worktops without a suitable tap hole need core drilling, quoted separately
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe around children?
There are two barriers. The supplied safety clip makes the boiling function impossible to activate at all, and even with it removed the handle button must be held while turning clockwise. It cannot be operated by accident or by a casual pull on the handle.
How often does the filter need replacing?
Every 6 months, using a Qettle Q08 cartridge. An LED on the unit tells you when it's due. Changing it on schedule is what keeps limescale out of the boiler tank, so it's worth staying on top of.
What happens if I use all 4 litres at once?
The tank refills and reheats in about 10 minutes. From completely cold, for example after installation or a holiday shutdown, allow 20 minutes.
Does it cost much to leave on standby?
The tank is fully insulated, so standby draw is small. In practice most households find it cheaper overall than a kettle, because you draw a cup rather than boiling a litre and a half to get one.
Can I use it for a baby's bottle?
We'd point you to current HSE guidance rather than give you our own answer on this one. Formula should be made with water that has been freshly boiled and then cooled to no less than 70°C, and the guidance is specific about using fresh tap water rather than water that has been held hot or reboiled.
Can you install it for me?
Yes. Our technicians cover Leinster, so get in touch at info@nuaqua.ie and we'll arrange a visit.
